Cianten – How To Get There?
Since early 2009, Cianten mentioned by many local mountain bikers around Greater Jakarta area. Many says that Cianten is the reflection of  ”Bumi Parahyangan” natural scenery. Cianten lies around Halimun National Park-West Java province. According to some sources, Cianten has Mountain Bike track that is good to be visited. Even according to some blogs, these tracks are alternative MTB track to replace the famous Rindu Alam MTB track.

Cianten area is famous with its Tea plantations managed by PTPN VIII. It is located in the Village Purasari,Leuwiliang district, Bogor regency. This tea plantation can be reached from the city of Bogor, heading West of Bogor Municipality.
If you start your journey from City of Bogor, we headed west toward the existing campus of IPB Dramaga area. From this campus area, we still have to travel a distance of about less than 34 km to the Market of Leuwiliang. Approximately one kilo meters before arriving at the Market Leuwiliang, we will see a signpost to the south, which shows the direction to Karacak/Cianten Tea Plantation. The street name is Jalan Moch. Noh Noer.

From the junction of Market Street Leuwiliang-Moch.Noh Noer, we still have to travel a distance of about 7 km to the south to reach PLTA Karacak. Normally cyclists parked their vehicles in the existing parking area nearby PLTA Karacak office area. You can start cycling from this area, or you can rent public transportation to carry away your bicycles to the Cianten Tea Plantation. Most of the people will choose the second options. It will be more exhaustive if you start cycling from PLTA Karacak office area. At the end of the day you will end your cycling session on Karacak again.
 If you choose to rent public transportation, then you can load up to four bicycles to one car. And for one car rent will cost you around Rp 100.000-Rp 125.000. So, one car will enough for four bicycles and four men. And this is the charge for only one way trip from PLTA Karacak office area to start of Cianten Plantation Area. The distance from PLTA Karacak office area to the Cianten Plantation Area is around 16 km. Normally it will take around 45-60 minutes to get there from PLTA Karacak office area. But don’t forget that you must first stop by at Leuwiliang Market area to rent this public transportation car before you went up to PLTA Karacak office area.

For conclusion, you must make a really good plan if you want to carry out mountain biking activity in these are. It will take at least two hours to reach Cianten plantation area from Bogor. And it will be wise enough if you buy your lunch box first from Leuwiliang Market. If you want to carry out the activity on the weekend, make sure you start moving as early as possible from your house.
